Care and Share

We love serving Care and Share. It's a great way to give back to the community.

Care and Share is a non-profit organization serving the Colorado Springs community since 1972. Their mission is to provide food, resources, and education to people struggling with hunger and poverty. Dedicated volunteers and community partners helped Care and Share distribute over 28 million pounds of food last year alone.

One of Care and Share's most important programs is the Emergency Food Assistance program. This program provides emergency food boxes to families in crisis, helping to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry. Additionally, they have a mobile food pantry that travels to different locations throughout the city to reach people who can't make it to their main facility. Other programs provided by Care and Share include the Community Kitchen, which serves hot meals to people in need daily, and Cooking Matters, which teaches people how to cook healthy, affordable meals using the resources they have on hand.

Care and Share also relies heavily on the help of volunteers to carry out their mission. There are many ways to get involved, including:

  • Donating food: Care and Share accepts donations of non-perishable items at their primary location and

through various food drives throughout the year.

  • Volunteering: Volunteers are needed to sort and distribute food, work in the Community Kitchen, provide administrative support, and more.

  • Donating money: Monetary donations help Care and Share purchase the food and resources they need to serve our community.

  • Hosting a food drive: You can organize a food drive through your workplace, school, or community group to help collect donations for Care and Share.

Care and Share is a vital resource to our community, providing food and resources to those in need. By getting involved and supporting their mission, we can help ensure that everyone in Colorado Springs has access to the food and resources they need to thrive.
